Whenever I'm out and about and I see children being children, I get a little lost in their personal insanity.
Kids are crazy. And it's the best thing in this world. They have everything provided for them, they want to constantly play, they never want to sleep or eat much. They're the definition of chasing your dreams.
Until I had my own I didn't pay the closest attention to what childhood actually was. I lived it, obviously. But I never had the ability to reflect on it until I became a parent.
Kids are full of wonder, they ask questions, they're motivated, active, and hungry for knowledge. They're passionate about their favorite things — obsessed even.
They love life.
Their imagination never stops working either. They have this unique perspective of the world. They don't have to know what adults know. And they relish in that.
Growing older seems to force us into a strict regimen that focuses on working hard and sucking it up. And to be fair, there is some real growth that needs to happen through that avenue.
But somewhere along the road we undoubtedly stop making play a priority. I tend to think once you stop playing, you start dying. Harsh, I know.
It's definitely worth harnessing your inner child, at least once in a while. We need that freedom to express and feel. That passion and desire to do our favorite things and to play.
To keep being children.
