I'm always thrown off when people criticize the worship of God. Especially when it's mocked in some way.
“How could you worship a God that you don't know is real?” To them it must feel like a giant waste of time in life. But there's a realization that's being missed here.
We're all worshiping something. And our time is limited. It's one of the only resources we cannot get back. Where is your time? What do you treasure? The Bible says, “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (matt 6:21).
So where's your time? Where's your treasure? Where is your heart? Far be it from me to mock it. I give too much of my time to meaningless things, too.
I'd love more discipline. More consistency. I'd love to keep my time and worship solely focused on the things that make me a better man, husband, and father.
Jesus helps me do that. The Bible helps me do that. What helps you align your time so that you're not worshiping the wrong things?
“….What helps you align your time so that you're not worshiping the wrong things?”
EXCELLENT QUESTION!
